The most convenient and affordable way to deter criminals is to invest in an Intruder Alarm.

For business owners, intruders can be a real cause for concern, especially when premises are unoccupied at night.

Allow Solent Fire and Security to advise you on the right alarm system for you to protect your building and the people in it.

Intruder alarms are the most widely used security system and are often mandatory in commercial insurance policy contracts. Solent Fire and Security can offer a variety of intruder alarms from bells-only, to fully monitored systems, wired or wireless. Whether you wish to install a new system or upgrade an existing system we will work with you to provide the most effective solution.

We understand that every business has its own unique requirements and concerns, so our service begins by conducting a thorough risk assessment of your building and contents. From there we will use our vast experience and excellent relationships with manufacturers to deliver the best protection for your business.

A guide to Intruder Alarms

Can Intruder Alarms be monitored remotely?

A remotely monitored Intruder Alarm is the most convenient solution. When the alarm is activated, signals are sent to a monitoring centre and the police are contacted on your behalf.

Do Intruder Alarms require monitoring on site?

You can opt for a bells-only alarm system (see above) which doesn’t require monitoring. However, for a more effective and secure solution, a monitored system is recommended and is usually an insurance requirement.

Is a bells-only system effective?

The sound of bells may well deter criminals and alert anyone in the building to their presence. However, they will not provide an automatic police response, so a monitored system is usually preferable in commercial premises.

How are Intruder Alarms activated?

All alarms have triggers and are typically activated when an electrical circuit has been broken or motion is detected.
